Channeling Paris Hilton circa 2003 when she herself was 13, Chloe Wise reflects on a time in fashion different from the present when assimilation took form in the "it bags" from major labels. Her high fashion BDSM gear and satirical bread bag sculptures express her profound interest in as well as poke fun at consumerism. When fashion icon India Menuez wore Bagel No. 5 as a joke to a Chanel dinner, a multitude of major fashion magazines reported that "The new Chanel bag as been unveiled. It's amazing: everyone knows carbs are hot for fall." Wise says that the confusion around the bread sculptures is an important part of her work, but also one of the funniest. Upon deeper subject exploration, the use of bread ties in with its symbolism as a signifier of wealth, i.e. "bread winning." She highlights the sinful undertones of desert food that results in fetishization of the female body not only in advertising but real life. Wise says that she speaks to herself as well when she makes fun of consumerism, "It's funny when you realize you're a part of it all."
